ZAMAK NECKLACE (zamak)

The term zamak metal alloy refers to a family of zinc alloys whose main elements are aluminum, magnesium, antimony, and copper. The second alloying element is aluminum, which is present in percentages ranging from 0.8 to 27% and whose main effect is to act as a hardening agent, while copper increases castability.

Iron is present as an impurity.

Its excellent castability and hardness, comparable to that of many cast irons and brasses, make Zamak suitable for costume jewelry.
