COLLANA IN ZAMA (zamak)

The term zama metal alloy refers to a family of zinc alloys, whose main elements are aluminum, magnesium, antimony, and copper. The second alloying element is aluminum, which is found in percentages ranging from 0.8 to 27% and whose main effect is as a hardening agent, while copper increases castability.

Iron is present as an impurity.

The excellent castability and hardness comparable to that of many cast irons and brasses make Zama suitable for bijoux.
